Slot Name: Return of the Rudolph
USA Players: Accepted
Return of the Rudolph is part of a series of slots from RTG which celebrates the winter season and Christmas in particular, but in a very unusual way. It shows off a war between Santa and Rudolph, the two sides being quite brutal in their approach to the conflict. Some of the symbols shown here include a tied up Mrs. Clause, elves that got beaten and teddy bears with their arms ripped off. In other words, it sounds like a fun game. You get 50 paylines in it, so it should give you plenty of chances to win its top prize of $30,000, or the progressive jackpot.
Luckily, US players will have access to this slot machine, thanks to RTG’s policy to make all their titles available to their country.
Betting & Jackpots
The game asks of you that you use 50 coins at all times, this allowing it to keep all the paylines active. You are free to modify their value as you need to, the range being between $0.01 and $5. As for the total bet, it can be as small as $0.50, or it can go up to $250.
The regular sized jackpot gives the player 2,000 coins, with a chance to triple it to 6,000 if a wild contributes with a multiplier. That would be a top payout of up to $30,000. There is a progressive jackpot mentioned as well, and you win it with help from the symbols of the game.
Rudolph is the one shown here with a bat in his hands. This would be the wild symbol, which is a regular sized icon on four reels (1, 2, 4 and 5) and a stacked one on reel 3. The stacked wild also applies a 3x multiplier. A combination of five wilds on the same line will pay 6,000 coins if the stacked wild is present in it. Wild symbols can’t substitute for the scatter Thugs.
The Thugs are shown in the second feature icon of the game. These scatter symbols award regular payouts when they appear with three or four symbols, or a progressive jackpot when there are five such symbols.
A picking bonus game is activated by the same 3 or 4 scattered Thugs that will give you cash prizes. With 5 such symbols, the only reward is that progressive jackpot. The feature asks you to pick one of the scatters, in order to get one of three possible features.
The design is one of the strong points of the game, and RTG seems to have spent quite a bit of time creating it and making sure that everything fits together. Even the playing cards look beaten up here, and they’re made of colored ice apparently. The rest of the symbols, the themed ones, look even better.
It’s a great game to play during the Christmas season, especially if regular holiday themed games have become boring for you.
